Possibly Elias Bierly, born April 7 1815 in Rowan County, NC, married Celia Trease, then Elizabeth Ann Schoolfield, then Eliza June Buckner. All these people died in Marshall County, Kentucky. Probably Ely Byerley, farmer, age 55 in the 1870 Marshall County census, born in North Carolina. Also in the household were Eiza J (age 30, keeping house), Elizabeth (age 15), Minervie E. (age 13), Harriett L (age 11), Lavina C (age 10), Jonathan L (age 2), and Julia E (age 1). Several Byorleys and Byerlys lived in Marshall County.

Married 3rd to Eliza Jane Buckner (b. Aug. 1839 KY-d. aft. 1920 census). Married abt. 1865 as 1900 census has married 35 yrs.

Children from #3 marriage were; Johanna L. born 1868, Julia Ann born Dec. 1869.

Elias Byerley was the son of Martin b. 1775-74 Rowan Co. N. C. & died at 85 yrs old in Marshall Co. KY Oct. 1, 1859 of lung inflamation. Mother was Margaret Simms b. abt. 1777 & died at 75 yrs old in Marshall Co. KY Oct. 18, 1852 of winter fever. Her parents were listed as Machel & Caty Simms in death record.

According to Genealogy Library.com, a book "The Byerly of Carolina Vol. 1 & 2", Martin is the son of John Jacob Byerly & Magdelina (Margaret) Summey (Summery).
